Karen Dowling

Karen holds a BSc (Honours) in Wellness from Munster technological University and has a Masters in Counselling and psychotherapy with the Irish College of Applied Humanities and Sciences (ICHAS). Karen has also completed a Certificate in CBT, Certificates in counselling and psychotherapeutic skills and practice, group facilitation skills and the stages of change model. Karen is also a mindfulness practitioner and has worked as a personal trainer and nutrition coach for many years, meaning she has worked with her clients and their ability to change in many aspects of her career.

Karen uses as  Integrative approach to psychotherapy so that the style of therapy used in specifically formulated depending on her client’s needs. In Karen’s work, she believes in creating a safe and warm environment for her clients, she is compassionate and cares about what her clients think and say. She offers a judgement free, confidential space for her clients to identify their issues and work through them with her support.

Karen works with adult individual clients and is available for short term solution focused work, as well as long term work. She attends supervision with a qualified external supervisor to maintain a high standard of therapeutic practice.

Karen works with a wide range of issues (but not limited to) such as: Anxiety, Cancer and chronic Illness, Psychosexual issues, Depression, Lifestyle management, Mindfulness and Wellness, Self Esteem issues, Stress, Work/Life balance.
